Kenya and Tanzania : Adventure, Wildlife and Culture.

The East African countries of Kenya and Tanzania will provide you with a rich array of extraordinary experiences that are simply unforgettable. You will serve, teach, coach, explore, challenge, embrace fear, and celebrate life over three extraordinary weeks.

The significant differences between this year’s expedition and previous encounters is the inclusion of David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage ( and the exploration of Kibera – Africa’s second-biggest slum with an extraordinary youth development organisation called ‘Mirror of Hope’ (

Sheldrick’s will astound you and is rightfully seen as a pioneer of Animal Conservation in Africa. A baby elephant cannot survive without mama’s milk for three years. Sheldrick has duplicated the ‘milk formula’ and looks after these babies whose mother was most likely killed for her ivory tusks by the poacher’s gun. Once the babies are mature, they are rehabilitated into the great herds of Tsavo National Park, where they can enjoy a safe, rich, family environment.

Kibera is Africa’s 2nd biggest slum and your exploration of this famous community is sure to be a highlight. You will meet your peers who are residents of the slum. They will invite you to their homes and offer you safety, entertainment and a profound education that you are likely to never forget.

The Athletic’s Carnival that you will deliver to our three Government Primary schools at the foot of Kilimanjaro is an incredible event. First of all, you get to know the students of your school as you become their ‘athletics coach’ and paint their classrooms with them working beside you. Plenty of shared laughter is guaranteed.

Ascending Kilimanjaro will be one of the greatest experiences of your life. To stand on the summit of ‘the world’s highest free-standing mountain’ is a remarkable feat, but to get there you will need 6 days trekking 5 diverse ecology zones. Should you make it, you will have discovered capabilities within yourself that you never knew you possessed. It is, without doubt, one of the world’s greatest personal growth adventures.

Then finally, there is the option of joining us on Safari. Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park will not let you down. While no one can guarantee that you will see all of the animals, we are prepared to promise that the concentration of wildlife will offer you a true African encounter that is the perfect way to celebrate these three remarkable weeks.

This year’s itinerary is stunning with a variety of servitude, adventure and community building experiences requiring from you courage, resilience and a flair to explore!
